    The front glass of double-sided TB is tempered 3.2mm, while the front glass of double-sided DG is heat-strengthened 2.0mm. Due to the higher impact strength of tempered glass, the risk is lower if used in areas prone to weather conditions such as hail. Double-sided DG has a symmetrical structure, with glass on each side contributing to its mechanical strength, providing it with higher wind and dynamic mechanical loads. In some areas with high wind speed (wind load above 2400Pa), double-sided DG means lower risk, while double-sided TB can also use additional fixed equipment.

    Double glass modules are known for their excellent steam resistance. Double-glass modules have a lower risk of breakage compared to common products in high humidity environments, such as offshore areas and floating projects. The 30-year lifespan of the double-sided TB is based on the use of a transparent back sheet with double-sided fluorine-containing material and a vapor-resistant POE. The outer layer of the transparent back sheet is DuPont Tedlar film, which is anti-aging and anti-corrosion. The inner layer is a fluorine coating (thickness greater than 10μm), which can effectively block ultraviolet rays and maintain the excellent mechanical properties of the back sheet in extreme environments. POE is a polymer material with a more stable molecular chain, no acid group, and better water resistance than EVA.

    The UV transmittance of the transparent back sheets and glass is significantly different. The UV transmittance of the transparent back sheet is less than 1%, while the glass is 40-50%. Since double-sided modules generally use high-transmittance POE, double-sided DG cannot block the damage of ultraviolet rays transmitted from the back to the packaging materials and cells, while the transparent back sheet can block ultraviolet rays, thereby protecting the cells and packaging materials.
