Dyeing Fabric Factory introduces the method of dyeing clothes:

1. Choose the right fabric. Most dyes are most suitable for natural fabrics. If you want to dye the purest color, please choose white or off-white clothes. Natural dyes are most suitable for cotton, wool, silk and muslin.

2. Wash clothes before dyeing. Before starting dyeing, make sure that the selected clothes are clean. Use the normal warm water washing procedure and mild detergent to clean the clothes. Make sure that all stains have been removed before proceeding to the next step.

3. Cover the working space. Dyeing clothes can cause messy work space. To make the aftermath easier, you can cover your work space with a plastic cover or a few layers of newspapers. You should also have sponges and paper towels nearby, which can come in handy if the dye overflows.

4. Use natural dyes; if you use berries to make dyes, please prepare a salt fixative. Mix 125 ml of salt (half a cup) with 2 liters of cold water (8 cups). If you use other plants to make dyes, please prepare a vinegar fixative. Mix white vinegar and cold water in a ratio of 1:4.

5. Choose the correct color. The selected plant materials will determine the color of the dye.

6. Collect plant materials. The plants you decide to use must be in a mature state, the fruits and berries must be mature, the nuts must be mature, the flowers must be intact, and at the end of the life cycle.

7. Cut the plant material into small pieces. You use a kitchen knife to cut the plant material into small pieces. Put these plant materials into a large soup pot. The soup pot must be twice the size of the clothes you want to dye. Cutting the material into small pieces can increase the surface area and make it easier to extract natural pigments.

8. Slowly cook the dye. Put water in the stock pot and boil on high heat, then turn to low heat and let the dyes simmer slowly for about 60 minutes. The water used must be twice as much as the plant materials.

9. Filter the dye. Pour the dye into the colander to filter out the plant materials in the dye bath. Pour the liquid back into the dyeing stock pot.

10. Put the clothes in the dye bath and cook slowly. Put the wet clothes in the dye bath and cook them slowly over medium heat until the color you desire is dyed.

11. Wash the dyed fabric with cold water. For the first washing, you need to wash the dyed clothes separately with cold water (separate from other clothes). The freshly dyed clothes will shake the color. Use a dryer to dry the clothes or dry them in the sun.
