The Reference Pressure Is Neither The Ambient Pressure Nor The Internal Pressure Of The Sensor

All pressure measurements are made relative to the reference pressure and are expressed in these main terms.

There are 4 main types of pressure measurement

  Pressure gauge-reference to atmospheric pressure.

Sealed-refers to a sealed chamber closed at atmospheric pressure (about 1 bar).

Absolute-the reference is a vacuum (0bar or no pressure).

The differential-The sensor has two ports for measuring two different pressures.

All pressure measurements are made relative to the reference pressure and are expressed in these main terms.

  Gauge (G)

The Glycerine-filled manometer measures the input pressure (of the medium) based on the surrounding atmospheric pressure (to the atmosphere). Pressure gauges are used to measure pressure relative to environmental conditions, such as car tire pressure. Since the sensor is open to the atmosphere, it is susceptible to moisture. Be careful to install the device in a dry place (otherwise, the internal circuit may malfunction).

  Sealed (S)

The input pressure (of the medium) is measured with reference to a closed chamber closed at atmospheric pressure (approximately 1 bar). This can prevent the internal circuit of the sensor from getting wet. The range is usually limited to a minimum of 7 bars and above. External installations or places where the equipment may need to be cleaned are good examples of applications. The industrial pressure sensors of our Vacuum pressure gauge Manufacturers are ideal.

  Absolute value (A)

The absolute pressure sensor measures the input pressure (of the medium) with a vacuum chamber of 0 bar (evacuated and sealed) as a reference. Designate where absolute pressure measurement (such as atmospheric pressure) is required or equipment that needs to remove all air.

  Difference (D)

Here, the reference pressure is neither the ambient pressure nor the internal pressure of the sensor. The sensor is equipped with two ports-high input and low input-and will measure the difference between the two. Usually used in filter measurement applications. See our range of differential pressure sensors.
