A Festive Christmas Wedding inside a Converted Mill

Meet Tash, a data analyst, and Dave, a surveyor, who married in Northern Ireland around the 16th of December 2017 inside a festive and romantic winter ceremony.

"We chose this old renovated mill as our venue because it was perfect for any winter wedding, having that romantic, rustic feel. It also looks amazing when it's dark with the beautiful twinkly lights."

Tash wore an attractive gown, and she wore a matching lace jacket. I love the sweetheart neckline and full skirt, in addition to its deceptive simplicity.

"I fell deeply in love with this dress as I felt it had that classic romantic princess feel so when I tried it on I knew nothing would compare. I loved the large skirt and fitted waist. I also loved that I had the lace jacket for that ceremony along with a belt for that reception/evening which transformed the gown and made it seem like having two separate outfits."

"The very first time we were in each other's company I was at a mutual friend's wedding in Ballydugan Mill – the same location that we got married. I remember saying to my mate Hanna (whose wedding it had been) that I would like to get married here. Dave went to live in London soon after that for a few years and we didn't properly meet again until he moved home." Here

"We met again in a fancy dress party – I was dressed like a chicken and Dave was dressed like a mime – and also, since then we've been inseparable. We chose to buy a house after being together for any year – a couple of weeks before we've got the secrets of our house we went round to complete a few measurements for furniture and that's where we've got engaged."

Dave wore a dark blue suit, worn having a spotted tie, a pocket square, a tie clip and belt, cufflinks along with a watch.

The bridesmaids looked festive in deep red dresses, worn with shoes, fresh gypsophila within their hair to echo the bride-to-be, and bracelets and earrings, as the little flower girls wore white flower girl dresses, worn having a little faux-fur cape.

Ceremony and drinks reception music was supplied by an entertainment pianist kept the celebratory atmosphere going through the afternoon, while a band took over for that evening, keeping the dancefloor constantly full.

"It's so desperately to say what my favorite part of the day was. I enjoyed that feeling straight following the ceremony when there would be a real buzz up and everyone was congratulating us and I was all taking photos together. There would be a champagne reception only at that part of the day and everyone was excited for what was to come."

Words of Wedded Wisdom

"When you are looking at the actual day, appreciate it. Try never to fear about everyone enjoying themselves because most people are there to celebrate you so take full advantage of it!"
