Bed elevator is used to transport hospital beds (including patients) and medical equipment. It is mainly installed in hospitals and other occasions. Its characteristic is that the load capacity and car area cannot be too small, otherwise it will not be possible to load rescue equipment such as hospital beds, oxygen cylinders, and bottle racks.

Configuration requirements:

The domestic requirements for the transportation configuration of hospital bed elevators can be found in Article 314 of the "General Hospital Building Design Code":

①The outpatient building or ward building with 4 floors and above should be equipped with elevators, and no less than 2 elevators. When the height of the ward building exceeds 24m, a dirt ladder should be installed.

②The elevators and dirt ladders for patients should adopt "bed ladders".

③The elevator shaft shall not be adjacent to the main building.

JGJ40-87 "Code for Design of Sanatorium Buildings" has the following requirements for elevator traffic configuration.

Article 3.1.2: The sanatorium building should not exceed 4 floors. If it exceeds 4 floors, an elevator should be installed.
