Enameled wire is a main type of winding wire. It consists of a conductor and an insulating layer. After the bare wire is softened by annealing, it is painted and baked many times. However, it is not easy to produce products that not only meet the requirements of the standard, but also meet the requirements of customers. It is affected by the quality of raw materials, process parameters, production equipment, environment and other factors. Therefore, the quality characteristics of various enameled wires are different, but they all have Mechanical properties, chemical properties, electrical properties, and thermal properties are four major properties.

Generally speaking, enameled wire can be divided into:

  1. General purpose enameled wire (ordinary wire): Mainly used for general motors, electrical appliances, and meters. Winding wires in working places such as transformers.
  2. Heat-resistant enameled wire: It is mainly used for winding wires of motors, electrical appliances, instruments, transformers, etc., working in a temperature environment of 180°C and above.
  3. Special-purpose enameled wire: refers to the enameled wire with certain quality characteristics, and the winding wire used in specific occasions.

After the enameled wire is wound into a coil, it generally goes through the dipping process. The solvent in the dipping varnish has a different degree of swelling effect on the paint film, especially at higher temperatures; the immersed winding is due to heat during use. The paint film may cause thermal cracking, so the compatibility of the dipping paint and the enameled wire paint film has a great influence on the service life of motors, appliances, and meters. During use, the winding may be in contact with various surrounding media, such as contact with refrigerants in refrigeration equipment, and contact with various chemical gases in chemical plants. These media have different degrees of corrosion on the paint film, and salt spray is harmful to the ocean. The enameled wire of electrical products on ships can also produce chemical corrosion and so on. Therefore, the paint film of the enameled wire is required to have good chemical stability.
