Check the Instant Pot of the Instant Pot before each use
1. Remove the stainless steel inner pot and look inside the bottom of the instant pot. You will see the heating element. Before you use the Instant Pot, the heating element should always be free of debris and dry. After cleaning, I always dry the stainless steel inner pot thoroughly before putting it back on the base.

2. Check whether the silicone sealing ring is correctly installed on the cover, and whether it is clean and not torn.

3. Gently pull the steam release valve on the lid of the Instant Pot vertically upwards. Make sure it is clean and free of debris. Certain foods, such as applesauce, pasta, and oatmeal, may foam during cooking and block the steam release valve. Check the steam release valve every time you use the Instant Pot. If it is dirty, wash it under running water and put it back on the lid of the Instant Pot.
