Knitted Mesh Fabric--All-Polyester

The most common knitted mesh fabric is All-polyester Porous Mesh Fabric or nylon mesh fabric.

The most common knitted mesh fabric is All-polyester Porous Mesh Fabric or nylon mesh fabric. While the two synthetic polymers share some properties—for example, lightweight, durability, and tear resistance—there are several key differences that make them suitable for different applications.

Polyester is made up of soft synthetic polymer fibers produced through a chemical reaction between alcohol, carboxylic acid, and petroleum by-products. The resulting fibers are then drawn and oriented together to form a strong yarn that naturally repels water, resists dyeing, resists UV degradation, and withstands heavy use.

Nylon has a smoother and softer hand than polyester, which in some cases makes it more suitable for applications requiring high aesthetic quality or user comfort. However, as mentioned above, other factors, such as a high filament count, can make polyester as drapeable as soft nylon.

Nylon is hydrophilic (absorbs water) while polyester is hydrophobic (repels water). Therefore, the former is more likely to be trapped by water in high-humidity or high-humidity environments, while the latter dries out quickly in marine and aquatic environments.

Nylon fibers are inherently resistant to bending and stretching, while polyester fibers are inherently resistant to heat and UV rays. These qualities make nylon mesh more suitable for applications where the material is subject to frequent bending and stretching, while the polyester mesh is more suitable for end-uses where stability is critical and for environments exposed to high temperatures and sunlight. Again, it's important to note that these intrinsic qualities are basic at best.
