Is the CNG retrofit system reliable?

CNG cars are refitted with regular gasoline cars, and a CNG-type car compressed natural gas device is added while retaining the original car's fuel supply system. The modification part consists of the following three systems:

(1) Natural gas system. It is mainly composed of an inflation valve, high-pressure stop valve, natural gas cylinder, high-pressure pipeline, high-pressure joint, pressure gauge, pressure sensor and gas volume display.

(2) Natural gas supply system. It is mainly composed of the natural gas high-pressure solenoid valve, three-stage combined pressure reducing valve, mixer, etc.

(3) Oil and gas fuel conversion system. It is mainly composed of a three-position oil-gas switch, ignition time converter, gasoline solenoid valve and so on.

Two security devices, a fusible plug and a bursting disc are installed at the mouth of natural gas cylinders. When the temperature of the gas cylinder exceeds 100℃ or the pressure exceeds 26MPa, the security device will automatically rupture and relieve the pressure. A safety valve is installed on the pressure reducing valve. When the bottle and high-pressure pipeline are installed, there are shock-proof rubber pads, which are firmly clamped. Therefore, the system is safe and reliable in use.

When CNG vehicles use natural gas as fuel, the natural gas is mixed with air through a mixer and enters the cylinder after three-stage decompression. The compressed natural gas is reduced from a rated intake pressure of 20MPa to negative pressure, and its vacuum degree is 49-69kPa. The combination of the pressure reducing valve and the mixer can meet the concentration requirements of the mixed gas under different working conditions of the engine.

The pressure reducing valve assembly is equipped with an idle speed solenoid valve to supply the engine idling gas. The compressed natural gas needs to expand and do work to absorb heat during the decompression process. Therefore, the pressure reducing valve is also equipped with a heating device that uses the engine's circulating water. In order to improve the operating performance of the car, the cab is equipped with an oil-gas fuel conversion switch, which is used to uniformly control the oil-gas solenoid valve and the ignition time converter. The ignition time converter is automatically converted by the circuit system to the different ignition advance angles of the two fuels. The dashboard The 5 traffic lights on the upper gas volume display indicate the gas storage volume of the gas cylinder, and the fuel switch is also provided with a gas supply button for starting the engine.
