The tachometer operates by reading the signal from the ignition system. This is a "pulse" signal. Each pulse is counted, and the microprocessor converts this frequency into the movement of the pointer you see on the dial. Gasoline engines usually count the number of coil ignitions. Diesel engines mainly use some kind of sensors. The same theory applies to both types.
General guidelines for wiring signals:
-Know where to receive the signal. If you are using an after-sales ignition system, the manufacturer’s instructions will indicate the source of the speed signal.
-Keep the speed signal wire away from the speed signal wire, ignition wire, fan, pulse pump, anything that may interfere with the signal or the speed signal will actually make the signal resonate.
-Filtering: The tachometer has a built-in digital filter designed to optimize the incoming signal from the signal source. You can make changes as needed.
-Before connecting the signal line, please make sure you have a high-energy ignition system. If installed improperly, it may cause damage.
